Hardwood Stores

Local Mills

Yes. Seek out local mills to buy your wood from. Remember to pick a mill that will put the boards through some kind of kiln process. This kiln process assures that the insects that may have been are now absolutely dead. Including there left over eggs and larvae.

Best places to shop for hardwood

The only place I will mention at the moment is The Hardwood Store of North Carolina. Fairest pricing on hardwood lumber I know of in NC. Its in Gibsonville just on the west side of Burlington.

Where do you get your wood?

I decided to put this section in the educational page because this may be our number one asked question. Although we get our wood from lots of different places I can absolutely say go to The Hardwood Store of NC. You will not be disappointed. Other than getting our wood from The Hardwood Store we also use downed trees from the local area. Sometimes friends gift me wood. I trade for shop time or the use of one of our tools. Sometimes I find a bundle deal where I can get the wood for an even better price than fair market value. I hope that answers the questions you have about wood supply.
